I recently visited the newly opened Boux Avenue and fell in love. The store is glossy and moreish but completely accessible with helpful, friendly staff and lingerie and loungewear to die for. Refreshingly, they also cater for the niche large-busted-small-backed women with the Beautiful by Boux Avenue collection, catering for sizes DD-G cup.
After looking around at the stunning styles, I racked up a lengthy shopping list. From everyday lingerie to a sizzling something special, lazy lounge wear and cosy PJs to gifts and cute accessories, Boux Avenue has it all, so I couldn’t wait to try things on.
Trialling the VIP Service*, I headed into the changing rooms for a personal fitting and was impressed to see three lighting options; Day, Dusk and Night plus your very own concierge service. This is exactly how every changing room should be! Let’s face it for most of us; trying on lingerie is not a task we look forward to so dimming the lights a little definitely helps.
My personal adviser measured underneath my bust and around the fullest part of my breasts to gain my true bra size. It turns out I was wearing the right size but she felt I would definitely benefit from going down in the back and up a cup too! With 80% of us wearing the wrong size, having a professional fitting at least four times a year is advised and Boux Avenue make it easy.
My adviser was absolutely right and suddenly my bust was uplifted, my waist looked smaller and I felt as tough a (literal) weight had been lifted.
To my welcome surprise, I chose a plunge bra which I’d normally shy away from but the Avril in Blush gave me a subtle cleavage and a smooth outline beneath clothing. I also opted for Sienna in Grape, a rich violet lace combo. This is my ‘treat yourself (and him)’ set with an unmoulded bra which gives a very natural but uplifted shape.
