London Fashion Week Trend Round Up

As ever, London Fashion Week SS17 showcased an amalgamation of looks but my favourite shows were as follows.  Get ahead and look out for these trends in stores now…

Temperley went with grown up bohemia meets summer festival vibe.  Think florals, bold patterns and bright colours while Preen by Thornton Bregazzi presented a mystical mash up of paganism, florals and Gothicism.  Think pretty and elegant meets rock chick!

Julien Macdonald on the other hand showed a lot of classic black with hints of his signature sheer or sparkling fabrics.  I love the idea of black for spring summer.  This anyone-can-wear-it shade is somewhat alternative to the usual pastels we see for the warmer months.

My picks here are out now since a nod toward next seasons trends already exist in stores right now.  Invest now, look out for the sales too and you can not only take these pieces through autumn and winter, you can throw them on for party season and wear them into spring too.  Talk about great cost per wear!

Feathered skirts are perfect for Christmas and New Year parties and if you love having fun with fashion, dress it down by day with patterned converse and a grey t-shirt.  Glamorous black dresses and those with florals are also versatile and ideal for going from desk to bar for after-work socials.  Wear with a blazer and pumps by day and swap for a bomber jacket, a statement necklace and heels by night.  Finally, metallic boots should be in every woman’s wardrobe as they instantly shake up any outfit and never date.  Whether you team them with a maxi skirt, dresses, jeans or trousers – they always look fabulous.
