Razzle Dazzle ‘Em with a Party Dress

06/11/2014

As if by magic and without any warning, party season is now upon us as Christmas draws ever near. Yes I said it, the dreaded C word.  But with all those invites slowly pouring in, a girl has to consider what to wear. Do you by a new outfit for every occasion or invest in one amazing piece to see you through it all?  You may be tempted by all of my top picks below…

The New LBD
The old faithful little black dress has been updated with stripes and sequins, lace sheer panels and a shorter length to flash some leg this season. Wear it with glitter wedges and coloured opaque tights or over wet look leggings as a tunic.

Floor Length and Fabulous

There’s nothing more head-turning than a glossy floor length number. You’re bound to stand out in this beauty – I’d wear it to impress, leaving accessories minimal with just a pair of chandelier earrings.

If You’ve Got it Flaunt it

Party season doesn’t have to be all about sparkle, winter white works just as well. It’s certainly not a style for the body-conscious but if you want to show off your curves, choose a bodycon. Team with a chunky wedge or ankle boots and a statement necklace.

Red Hot

Pillar box red looks good on most people and is a fabulous festive shade. This pretty style nips you in at the waist and is super flattering for those who may want to disguise a less-than-flat midriff after too many mince pies!

The Alternative

If you’re just not a dress kinda girl or fancy a warmer choice, a jumpsuit is a figure-flattering alternative.  There are plenty of styles to choose from but I love this simple black number to elongate legs and jazz up with colourful accessories for added festive bling.
